      At Brookewood School, we believe that our school should help parents form their daughters into young women who are educated, cultured, pious, cheerful, adventurous, and generous. Brookewood is an independent school, approved as Catholic by the Archbishop of Washington.

      ADMISSIONS

      Brookewood School, a K–12 day school for girls in Kensington, MD, begins admissions with an inquiry and a campus tour or shadow day. Families then submit a FACTS application (including a fee), transcripts, health and recommendation forms, and—for grades 6–12—a student questionnaire. Ninth-grade applicants apply by January 9 (decisions by February 20), while other grades are reviewed on a rolling basis. International students submit additional documentation.

      Brookewood School offers a cohesive K–12 liberal arts education rooted in Catholic values. Girls build strong foundations in reading, math, science, and history in the Lower School; deepen their knowledge with hands-on learning and classical studies in Middle School; and engage in a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum in the Upper School. With small class sizes and a focus on critical thinking, Brookewood prepares young women to thrive in college and beyond.

      Student life at Brookewood is vibrant and nurturing. Girls thrive in a close-knit community thanks to small class sizes, a four-house system that promotes mentorship across grades, and a rich array of clubs, activities, and service opportunities. Spiritual life is strong, with optional Mass, confessions, and community faith events. A highlight is the annual Black-Tie “Gala,” where students, faculty, and even parents collaborate on fun song, dance, and skit performances—an elegant and creative celebration that builds school spirit. This blend of faith, fellowship, arts, and leadership makes Brookewood student life uniquely enriching.
